Etymology edit
From Proto-Albanian *anera, from Proto-Indo-European *dreH- (“sleep, to sleep”). The reconstruction is not entirely certain. Under the assumption of epenthetic -d- (within -nr-) the word may be linked with Ancient Greek ὄναρ (ónar), ὄνειρος (óneiros) and Old Armenian անուրջ (anurǰ).
