Usage notes edit

  • Used to demarcate opposites, unexpected or sudden changed in narrative; an insertion, a comment or an addition that is to emphasized.[1][2]
  • They are to be separated from the text by one space (“ ”)[1][2][3]—this is different from English where spaces normally neither follow nor precede an em dash.
