    • 1794, Pausanias, The Description of Greece, (translated from Greek) volume I, chapter XXV, page #206:
      For they ſay, that Œneus who reigned in Ætolia, being driven from his kingdom by the ſons of Agrius, fled to Diomed at Argos; and that Diomed led an army into Calydonia, and revenged the injuries of Œneus, but told him, that he could not remain in his dominions.
