Etymology edit

From earlier Κλῠταιμήστρᾱ (Klutaimḗstrā), perhaps from κλῠτός (klutós, celebrated) +‎ μήδομαι (mḗdomai, to plan, be cunning). Often mistakenly glossed as "famed for her suitors", based on the unrelated word μνάομαι (mnáomai, to woo, court).
