θεπτάνων • (theptánōn)
- (hapax) Hesychius gives the definition as ἁπτόμενος (haptómenos, “burned, scorched”), present middle/passive participle of ἅπτω (háptō, “I burn”).
Usage notes edit
This word is not attested in normal speech, but rather is documented in Hesychius' lexicon. While no part of speech is given, the word could be the present active masculine nominative singular participle of * θεπτάνω, or perhaps the genitive plural of * θεπτάνος/* θέπτανος.
