Etymology edit

From Byzantine Greek κρασίον (krasíon, blending, diminutive), from Ancient Greek κρᾶσις (krâsis, blending), literally because in ancient Greece wine was usually drunk mixed with water. Compare with οίνος m (oínos). Cognate with Mariupol Greek красы́ (krasý) and Sicilian crascì.
