φλοῖσβος
Ancient Greek
editEtymology
editThe ending is reminiscent of θόρυβος (thórubos), κόναβος (kónabos) and ῥοῖβδος (rhoîbdos). Further analysis is unknown. Relation with φλιδάω (phlidáō, “to overflow with moisture”) is semantically not quite obvious.
