From *bȫgček, where -ček is a diminutive suffix, from Proto-Turkic *bȫg (“insect”).[1]
Cognate with Tatar бөҗәк (böcäk, “insect”), Kazakh бөжек (böjek, “insect”), Azerbaijani böcək, Turkmen möjek, Crimean Tatar böcek, Turkish böcek (“insect”), etc.
