Borrowed from Russian ДЗОТ (DZOT), an initialism of де́рево-земляна́я огнева́я то́чка (dérevo-zemljanája ognevája tóčka, literally “wood-earth firing point”).

- They had to get closer to the pillbox without getting noticed and, when Jermakoŭ were due to start an assault on the halt, shower the pillbox with grenades to suppress it.
