Compare Buryat зүүн (züün, “left; east”) & Khamnigan Mongol дзүүн (dzüün, “left; east”); Classical Mongolian ᠵᠡᠭᠦᠨ (ǰegün) & its descendant Mongolian зүүн (züün, “left; east”); Written Oirat ᠴᡈᡉᠨ (zöün) & its descendant Kalmyk зүн (zün, “left; east”); also Tuvan borrowed чөөн (çöön, “east; [politically] left”).
