From еңеү (yeñew, “win”) + -се (-se, affix forming an agent noun).
Compare to Tatar жиңүче (jiñüçe, “winner”), Kazakh жеңуші (jeñuşı, “winner”), Kyrgyz жеңүүчү (jeŋüücü, “winner”), Southern Altai јеҥӱчи (ǰeŋüči, “winner”), Turkmen ýeňiji (“winner”).
