Moksha edit

Etymology edit

From earlier *kərga, from Pre-Mordvinic *kurga.[1] Likely borrowed from Proto-Indo-European *gʷerh₃- (to swallow, devour). The connection with Finnish kurkku is doubtful.[2] Replaced Proto-Mordvinic *śīwə (neck).
