Borrowed from Turkish tuğla, either from Greek τούβλο (toúvlo), from Latin tubulus, diminutive of tubus (tube, pipe); or from Greek τούγλα (toúgla, roof cover made of terracotta, tile), from Latin tēgula (tile), related to Latin tegō (to cover).
