Etymology edit
From *törtägü (“four of a group; somebody”), from Proto-Turkic *tȫrt (“four”).
Cognate with Kazakh төртеу (törteu, “four as a group”), Southern Altai тӧртӱ (törtü), Bashkir дүртәү (dürtəw, “four”), Kumyk дёртев (dörtew) and etc.
