Via Volga Turki, from Chagatai قدر (qadar, “up to; as much as”), from Persian قدر (qadar), from Arabic قَدْر (qadr, “quantity, amount, size”).

- (takes dative case) up to, all the way to, as far as

- I have found out up to ten generations of who my ancestors were.
