Armenian edit

Etymology edit

From առնետ (aṙnet, rat) +‎ -ա- (-a-) +‎ վազք (vazkʻ, race), motivated by the expression like rats from a sinking ship, which exists also in Armenian. Although, literally corresponding to English rat race, Russian крыси́ные бега́ (krysínyje begá), the meaning in Armenian is different.
