An Iranian borrowing; compare Parthian 𐫖𐫏𐫃𐫅 (mygd /⁠miγδ⁠/), 𐫖𐫏𐫃𐫅𐫃 (mygdg /⁠miγδag⁠/, fruit), Sogdian [script needed] (mγδʾk, fruit).
