Etymology edit

Reduplication of *յորջ- (*yorǰ-), which Martirosyan derives from Proto-Indo-European *h₁en-wor-ye-, composed of the prefix *h₁en- (in) (whence յ- (y-)) and the ye-present of the root *wer- (to speak).
