Etymology edit

Likely a Semitic borrowing: compare Aramaic 𐡔𐡐𐡕𐡉𐡍 (šptyn, lips),[1][2] which is an Old Aramaic dual of the word for "lip", ultimately from Proto-Semitic *śapat-.
