Margaryan identifies with հոսի (hosi). J̌ahukyan derives from Proto-Indo-European *oḱiyā, from the root *oḱ- (“sharp”).

ոսի • (osi)

(dialectal, Karabakh, Goris) a kind of thorny plant, which is eagerly eaten by animals when it is green and used as tinder when it is dry; its roots are used for making the shafts of spinning wheels
