Etymology edit

From Byzantine Greek βρουτσίν (broutsín, small brush made from pig bristle), the diminutive of βρούτσα (broútsa, brush), also spelled βούρτζα (boúrtza), βούρτσα (boúrtsa), βρούτζα (broútza), which derives via Vulgar Latin from Proto-Germanic *burstiz, represented in German as Bürste (brush).[1][2][3][4]

Recorded in the dialects of Transylvania and Nor Nakhichevan.

Doublet of ֆռչա (fṙčʿa).
