Compare with Arabic دَحَا (daḥā) and Classical Syriac ܕܚܐ (dəḥā, “to push away”).

Verb

דָּחָה • (dakhá) third-singular masculine past (pa'al construction, passive counterpart נִדְחָה)

1. to push away, push aside
   • Tanach, Psalms 118:13, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     דַּחֹה דְחִיתַנִי לִנְפֹּל וַיהוָה עֲזָרָנִי׃

     dakhó d'khitáni linpól vaYHVH 'azaráni.
     daḥō ḏəḥīṯánī linpōl waYHWH ʿăzārā́nī.

     Thou didst thrust sore at me that I might fall; but the LORD helped me.
