נוֹדַע • (nodá) third-singular masculine past (nif'al construction, active counterpart יָדַע)

1. To be known.
   • Tanach, Exodus 2:14, with translation of the King James Version:

     וַיֹּאמֶר מִי שָׂמְךָ לְאִישׁ שַׂר וְשֹׁפֵט עָלֵינוּ הַלְהָרְגֵנִי אַתָּה אֹמֵר כַּאֲשֶׁר הָרַגְתָּ אֶת הַמִּצְרִי וַיִּירָא מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמַר אָכֵן נוֹדַע הַדָּבָר

     vayómer mi sam'chá l'ish sar v'shofét alénu halhorgéni atá omér kaashér harágta et hamitsrí vayirá moshé vayomár achén nodá hadavár

     And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
