  1. to almost do something (with following non-past or with أَن (ʔan) + subjunctive)
    Synonyms: كَادَ (kāda), (rare) كَرَبَ (karaba)
    يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَكُونَ دُكْتُورًا
    yūšiku ʔan yakūna duktūran
    He will soon be a doctor.
