Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (tokı-, to hit, knock), Karakhanid [script needed] (tokın-, to hit, bump into), Azerbaijani toxunmaq (to touch), Kazakh тоқылдау (toqyldau, to knock), Tuvan токкулаар (tokkulaar, to tap, knock), Turkish dokunmak (to touch), Uzbek toʻqinmoq (to touch).
