Etymology edit

Relative adjective (nisba) composed of مَغَارِبَة (maḡāriba, Maghrebis) +‎ ـِيّ (-iyy). مَغَارِبَة (maḡāriba) is the plural of مَغْرِبِيّ (maḡribiyy, Maghrebi), derived from الْمَغْرِب (al-maḡrib, Maghreb).
