مليت
Pashto edit
Etymology edit
Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish مِلِّیَّت (milliyyet), itself coined in Ottoman Turkish from ملت (millet) + ـیت (-iyyet) (both elements respectively borrowed from Arabic مِلَّة (milla) and ـِيَّة (-iyya)). By surface analysis, ملت (millát, “nation”) + ـيت (-iyat).
