Ottoman Turkish edit

Etymology edit

From Italian Palermo, from Sicilian Palermu, from Arabic بَلَرْم (Balarm), ultimately from Latin Panormus, from Ancient Greek Πάνορμος (Pánormos), from πᾰν- (pan-, all) +‎ ὅρμος (hórmos, port), apparently because of the good natural harbor.

Proper noun edit

پالرمو (Palermo)

  1. Palermo (a city in Sicily, Italy)
