Etymology edit

Probably from پُف (pof, huff) +‎ ِ (e, of) +‎ یوز (yuz, cheetah, hound), expressing a state of inaction or lassitude in a metaphore to the act of huffing instead of hunting by a hunting animal. The similarity to the French pouffiasse (slag, whore) is coincidental.

Adjective edit

پفیوز (pof(i)yuz) (comparative پفیوزتَر (pof(i)yuz-tar), superlative پفیوزتَرین (pof(i)yuz-tarin))

  1. (obsolete) lazy, weak
  2. (obsolete) cuckold
  3. (vulgar, derogatory) pathetic, worthless, incompetent
مرتیکه‌ی پُفیوز منو راه نداد تو!
martike-ye pofiyuz man-o râh nadâd tu!
That worthless piece of shit didn't let me in!
