Inherited from Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀧𑀁𑀔𑀺 (paṃkhi), 𑀧𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀺 (pakkhi)), from Sanskrit पक्षिन् (pakṣín, literally winged).
