Etymology edit

From ܐܒܝܕܐ (ʾăḇīḏāʾ, lost), from the root ܐ-ܒ-ܕ (ʾ-b-d) related to perishing + the abstract noun ending -ܘܬܐ (-ūṯāʾ).
