Etymology edit

From the root ܓ-ܡ-ܪ (ɡ-m-r). Compare Akkadian 𒄖𒈠𒊒 (/⁠gumāru⁠/) and Arabic جَمْرَة (jamra).

Usage notes edit

The plurals ܓܡܘܪܬܐ and ܓܡܘܪܝܬܐ are used for the sense of "Eucharist" while the plural ܓܘܡܪܐ is used for other senses.
