Etymology edit
From ܡܪܬ (māraṯ, “lady of”), construct form of ܡܪܬܐ (mārtāʾ, “lady, mistress”) + ܥܪܣܐ (ʿarsāʾ, “the bed”). Compare Arabic ذَات الْكُرْسِيّ (ḏāt al-kursiyy).
