Etymology edit

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀕𑁆𑀕𑀸𑀤𑁄 (aggādo),[1] ablative singular of 𑀅𑀕𑁆𑀕 (agga, beginning, top), from Sanskrit अग्र (ágra). Related to आगे (āge, before). Cognate with Punjabi ਅਗਾਊਂ (agāū̃) / اگاؤں, Gujarati અગાઉ (agāu), Marathi आगाऊ (āgāū).
