Related to जाल्लो (jāllo) and Marathi झाले (jhāle). The contracted form āle (see below) is possibly related to Old Marathi *𑘁𑘮𑘩𑘹𑘽 (*āhaleṃ, regularly inflected perfective of the defective verb 𑘁𑘮𑘜𑘹 (āhaṇe)).
