Etymology edit

Inherited from Proto-Indo-Iranian *saptamás, from Proto-Indo-European *septm̥-mó-s, from *septḿ̥ (seven). Cognate with Latin septimus, Ancient Greek ἕβδομος (hébdomos), Ossetian ӕвдӕм (ævdæm), Khotanese 𑀳𑁄𑀤𑀫 (hodama), Persian هفتم (haftom).
