Etymology edit

From Scythian *Horamrundaka (lord of gifts), composed of a cognate of Khotanese hora, haura (gift) + Scythian *mrund (literally lord, king) (cf. Khotanese rrund).[1] Equivalent of the Sanskrit title दानपति (dānapati) and the Pali title dānapati.

Compare with 𐨱𐨆𐨪𐨨𐨂𐨪𐨿𐨟 (horamurta) and 𐨱𐨆𐨪𐨐 (horaka).
