Etymology edit

Inherited from Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀧𑀅𑀤𑀺 (*paadi)) (a possible variant of 𑀧𑀟𑀤𑀺 (paḍadi)), from Sanskrit पतति (pátati, to fall, fly). Cognate with Hindi पड़ना (paṛnā).
