Inherited from Paisaci Prakrit 𑀅𑀳𑀼𑀡𑀺 (ahuṇi) (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀥𑀼𑀡𑀸 (adhuṇā), Maharastri Prakrit 𑀅𑀳𑀼𑀡𑀸 (ahuṇā)) from Ashokan Prakrit 𑀅𑀥𑀼𑀦𑀸 (adhunā), from Sanskrit अधुना (adhunā́).
