Etymology edit

Inherited from Old Gujarati कालउं (kālaũ), from Sanskrit काल (kāla, black, dark or dark-blue). Cognate with Konkani काळें (kāḷẽ), Marathi काळे (kāḷe), Marwari काळो (kāḷo).
