Etymology edit

From Proto-Tai *k.tɤtᴰ (fart). Cognate with Lao ຕົດ (tot), Shan တူတ်း (túut), Tai Dam ꪶꪔꪒ, Phake တုတ် (tut), Ahom 𑜄𑜢𑜤𑜄𑜫 (tüt), Zhuang roet. Probably of imitative origin. Compare Proto-Austronesian *qətut (whence Aklanon utot, Tagalog utot, and Maranao tot).
