Probably related to Arabic ن و ر (n w r), which contains meanings like "mark by branding" and "revile".[1][2]

- ኵሉ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ነውረ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ኢያምጽእዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢይሰጠወክሙ ።
