Etymology edit

From earlier ἐνῴδιον (enṓidion), from ἐν (en) +‎ οὖς (oûs, ear) +‎ -ίδιον (-ídion). The form was later altered to re-align with ὦτᾰ (ôta), the plural of οὖς (oûs).[1]
