  1. A brownish-yellow liquid used in traditional Chinese medicine "to remove heat, to release stagnated lung-qi, to relieve asthma and soothe sore throat, in the treatment of affection by exopathogen of infants, virulent-heat exuberating internal, fever and cold, cough and yellow-phlegm, polypnea and wheeziness, dryness of mouth, hoarse and painful swelling of the throat".
