  1. A black pill used in traditional Chinese medicine "to cool the lungs, release discomfort in the pharynx, remove epidemic evils, and relieve cough in the treatment of serious heat in the lungs and stomach, epidemic infectious diseases, fever, dizziness, aching of limbs, cough with copious phlegm, sore throat, epistaxis, haemoptysis, dryness of mouth and tongue". Honey is the binding agent.
