  1. A blackish-brown pill used in traditional Chinese medicine "to remove heat, to ease constipation, to dispel wind and relieving pain in the treatment of wind-heat in the upper part of the body, vertigo and distension of the head, gum swelling and pain, soreness of mouth and tongue, swelling of throat, ear-ache, tinnitus, congestive conjunctivitis, constipation, and dark urine".
