공알
Korean edit
Etymology edit
The second element is probably 알 (al, “egg”), but the identity of the first element is not clear.
Pronunciation edit
- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈko̞(ː)ŋa̠ɭ]
- Phonetic hangul: [공(ː)알]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
