By surface analysis, 𐤂𐤁 (gb, well, origin) +‎ 𐤀𐤋 (ʾl, God), diachronically from Proto-Canaanite g-b-l (Gubla). (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.)
