-вʼвʼи (-wwi) (after consonants -увʼвʼи)

  1. Used to form the plural form of regular nouns.
    тылгылӈын (finger) + ‎-увʼвʼи → ‎тылгувʼвʼи ((many) fingers)
    ӄураӈа (reindeer) + ‎-вʼвʼи → ‎ӄуравʼвʼи ((many) reindeer)
  2. (with the suffix -на) used to indicate plural objects, many of something.
    тынун вапаӄ → тынунавʼвʼи вапаӄавʼвʼи
    I ate a fly agaric → I ate (many) fly agarics

Usage notes edit

In colloquial speech, the ending -вʼвʼи is frequently reduced to or removed entirely.
