For steels with 1% or less carbon content, 10- +‎ "95" (0.95%) fractional portion of the percentage of carbon content.

  1. (metallurgy) A common grade of high carbon steel (0.95% carbon) used for blades. This grade is not a stainless steel, thus knives made with it must be oiled to prevent rusting, but its properties are suitable to make functional presentation swords.
